SCULPTURE Studio

Under specific circumstances, the psychological reality and emotional state of the model, can be communicated through the artist. These psychological explorations are most evident in the larger-scale ceramic sculptures of human heads. In this exhibition, one such sculpture, Viniita, is deliberately placed low to the ground, with a line of stones gesturing subtly toward the window. The subject of this sculpture is rendered with eyes cast downward, slightly open in a meditative or dream-like state. With a deep space between the sculpture and the window, the subject most certainly looks inward, but also faces outward toward the land. The subject seems to contemplate a rapidly changing eastern landscape, and by extension, asks viewers to do the same.
