Over time Fletcher has built a deep connection with her summer home, in Keels, Newfoundland – a place with unique geography and rich mythology. Integral to her practice, she walks the land with curiosity and respect, collecting the objects and imagery that feed much of her work. Over the years, she has collected objects that hold memory and serve as reminders of mortality – animal bones, drying sea kelp, fractured sea urchins and fossilized sea sponges.
