STUDIO DRAWING Finding Self
Integral images to this exhibition are two works that could be defined a self-portrait. Contemplation is a rendering of the artist's body in an unusual pose, bending over and holding her ankles. This pose reads as the pause of a woman looking down at the land, bending to appreciate its offerings, perhaps before picking up an object of delight, like a stone or shell. The integral link between care for the self and care for the land are embodied in this image.
